Highlights from our recent Agoro Girls Sponsorship Pilot Visit


With support from a committed donor, Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet) hosted a three-day field engagement to follow up on the Agoro Girls Sponsorship Pilot and strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders, families, and the supported students.


📍 Day 1 — Stakeholder Engagement & School Visit


Courtesy visit to District leadership

Meeting with Sub-county officials

Introduction of the girls’ education support initiative

Visit to the secondary school hosting the sponsored girls

Discussion with school administration on student progress and support


👩‍🎓 Day 2 — Meeting with Girls and Parents


Joint meeting held at ERONet office

Discussion on expectations and responsibilities

Encouragement to girls to stay focused on education

Engagement with parents on their role in supporting learning

Mentorship and guidance for long-term success


🏡 Day 3 — Household Visits


Home visits to each sponsored girl

Understanding family situations and learning environment

Strengthening relationships with guardians

Identifying risks that may affect school retention

Reinforcing commitment to girls’ education

This engagement strengthens:

  • Accountability to supporters

  • Family involvement in education

  • Monitoring of student progress

  • Sustainability of the pilot initiative
