Term I – 2026 | Agoro Sub-County, Lamwo District, Northern Uganda
Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to transform lives and communities.Yet in many rural areas of Northern Uganda, too many girls are still forced to leave school because of financial barriers.
Even small costs — school fees, learning materials, or daily meals — can become insurmountable obstacles for families.
When a girl drops out of school, the consequences can be long-term: early marriage, reduced economic opportunities, and limited independence.
But when a girl stays in school, everything changes. She becomes safer, stronger, and more likely to complete her education and build a future for herself and her community.
👩🏽🎓 The Agoro Girls Education Pilot
In Term I of 2026, five secondary school girls from Agoro Sub-County in Lamwo District have been selected to participate in the Agoro Girls Education Pilot Program.
This initiative is implemented by #ERONet with the support of private donors who believe that targeted, transparent support can make a real difference.
🌍 Why This Matters
In rural Northern Uganda, financial barriers continue to push girls out of school.
When a girl stays in school, she is safer, stronger, and more likely to complete her education.
The objective is simple but powerful:
help these girls stay in school and succeed.
📦 What This Support Includes
The program provides practical support designed to remove the barriers that most commonly lead to school dropout.
Each selected student receives:
🎓 Contribution to school tuition
📚 Learning materials and scholastic supplies
🍛 Lunch support during the school term
👣 Regular monitoring visits to the school
🏠 Home follow-up and mentorship with the families
This combination of educational and social support helps ensure that the girls not only stay enrolled, but also remain engaged and supported throughout the term.
🔎 How It Works
The pilot program is built on a simple and accountable model:
✔ Direct partnerships with local schools
✔ Structured monitoring throughout the school term
✔ Transparent tracking of program costs
✔ Engagement with families and communities
This approach ensures that the support reaches the students effectively and that progress can be monitored and improved over time.
🎯 The GOAL
The immediate goal is clear:
Keep five girls in school.
Reduce the risk of dropout.
But beyond that, the pilot aims to build something bigger:
a replicable and scalable model that can support many more girls in the future.
Every girl who stays in school strengthens not only her own future, but the resilience and development of her entire community.
✨ Small programs can create big change. And sometimes, helping just five girls stay in school is the beginning of something much larger.
